Keep Yourself Safe From Yoga Injuries With These Tips

Yoga is very different from other types of fitness exercises like the ones we do in gym or on the playground. Yoga is a way of keeping yourself physically and mentally fit in the long run.

However, since yoga poses require you to move your body around, you might find yourself suffering from yoga injuries especially if you are not already physically fit. In this article, we will show you how you can easily keep yourself safe from yoga injuries.

Always Warm Up

If you’re learning yoga from YTT Yoga School or any other teacher, you should try arriving a bit early to the class and start warming up your body. Try controlling your breath early on and start by making small movements to prepare your muscles for deeper exercises later on. Trying to do tough yoga poses right from the start can cause muscle aches and pulls.

Work on Your Alignment

For a building to strand tall, its foundations must be well aligned. That is why you should also work in your alignment if you want to benefit from a majority of the yoga poses.

On the other hand, if you lack proper alignment in yoga poses, it will keep you away from the full potential benefits of every yoga pose, and can even cause injuries.

Keep Your Breath Under Control

You should achieve a natural rhythm of breathing in yoga poses. You should keep an eye on your breath throughout the yoga class, and should see if you are breathing in a rhythm, or your breaths are shallow. Keep adjusting your breathing as you continue your practice.

You should also modify the yoga poses you are learning depending on your physical abilities and strengths. This becomes a lot easier if you are learning yoga from a reputable Institute.
